Admissions Process

King University Online seeks to provide an admissions process that’s as easy as possible to navigate.

Once you decide you’re ready, here’s what the admissions process will look like:

    We offer every applicant the opportunity to work with an individual enrollment counselor to help you navigate the application process. Enrollment counselors help you find the program that’s right for you and ensure you have all the information you need to successfully apply to your program of choice.
  2. Your application
    Depending on your level and program of study, there are certain items you’ll have to gather for your application. Please see individual program pages for a complete list of application requirements.
  3. Next Steps
    Once you’ve been accepted, you’ll need to prepare to become a King University Online student. Make sure you:

    • Transfer any credits you need to count towards your degree (up to 76 for undergraduate, 6 for graduate)
    • Pay all fees required to begin your program
    • Complete your financial aid forms (and military, if applicable)
    • Enroll in your courses of choice
    • Obtain the educational materials you need to start class
    • Speak with your personal success coach, who will help you through your King University Online experience

Undergraduate Admissions

General requirements for admission to King University include graduation from an accredited or recognized high school, GED, or secondary institution with a minimum of 16 academic units, distributed as follows:

  1. Four units of English
  2. Two units of algebra (Algebra I and II)
  3. One unit of geometry
  4. Two units of foreign language
  5. Two units from history and social studies
  6. One unit of natural science
  7. Four units of other academic electives

Home-schooled students should follow the same procedures as other candidates for the freshman class. Students should present a high school diploma or its equivalent.

How to Apply

Students applying to an undergraduate program are required to have have a minimum 2.6 high school GPA on a 4.0 scale. Students with a GPA below 2.6 may be considered and accepted on a conditional basis provided they are able to demonstrate why they feel they will succeed in the program.

  1. A completed application. (Essay may be required.)
  2. An official transcript request form, and all previous transcripts. Your enrollment counselor will take you through the process of requesting your official transcripts.
    1. A minimum 2.6 high school GPA on a 4.0 scale is required for admission.

Individual programs may require additional materials, such as:

  • Current licensure or certifications in their field
  • Previous or relevant work experience
  • An interview
  • Letters of recommendation
  • Professional portfolio
  • Self-assessment form

Graduate Admissions

All students applying for an online graduate degree program must submit the following materials:

  1. A complete online application
  2. An official transcript request form
  3. Letters of recommendation
  4. Personal statement or writing sample

Individual programs may require additional materials, such as:

  • A resume
  • Copy of current licensure or certifications in their field
  • Professional portfolio
