Continuing your nursing education is a long-term investment in your future; however, it can sometimes result in a short-term financial burden for you and your household. MSN scholarships make a graduate degree in the field more affordable for nursing students by lessening the impact associated with college expenses, including tuition, fees, books and supplies. There are a myriad of scholarships available to nursing students earning a graduate degree, and most scholarships can be applied to online MSN programs, including King University’s Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) program.

1. Above and Beyond Scholarship:

Nurses seeking a master’s degree in nursing, gerontology, health administration or long-term care are eligible for one of four $1,000 scholarships issued by the National Association of Directors of Nursing Administration in Long-Term Care (NADONA/LTC). 2. After College/AACN $10,000 Scholarship Fund:

Offered quarterly, the AfterCollege/AACN scholarship gives special consideration to students enrolled in an RN to BSN program or in an accelerated undergraduate or graduate nursing degree. Applicants must be enrolled in an AACN member institution. Scholarship deadlines are June 30, Sept. 30, Dec. 30 and March 30 annually. 3. American Mobile Healthcare Annual Scholarship Program:

Travel nurses who have completed 26 weeks of assignments and are seeking an MSN degree are eligible for this scholarship. For more information, visit www.americanmobile.com.

4. Association of periOperative Registered Nurses Foundation Master’s Degree Scholarship:

Members of the Association of periOperative Registered Nurses (AORN) who are pursuing a master’s degree are eligible for this scholarship. The application deadline is June 15. For more information about AORN and this scholarship, visit www.aorn.org.

5. Caroline E. Holt Nursing Scholarship:

This one-time award of $1,000 can be applied to any MSN program through an accredited college or university. The scholarship is based on financial need. The application deadline is Feb. 15. 6. Charlotte McGuire Scholarships:

Nurses pursuing continued education with a specialization in holistic nursing are eligible for these $2,000 scholarships offered by the American Holistic Nurses Association. For more information, visit www.ahna.org.

7. DiversityNursing.com’s Annual Nurse Education Scholarship:

Register for your chance at a $5,000 scholarship from DiversityNursing.com. The Nurse Education Scholarship is awarded annually during Nurse Week during the first part of May. The deadline to enter is April 30. To enter, visit www.diversitynursing.com.

8. Foundation of the National Student Nurses’ Association General Scholarships:

Nurses enrolled in a state-approved school of nursing bachelor’s or master’s program are eligible for this scholarship. The award amount ranges from $1,000 to $2,500. 9. Foundation of the National Student Nurses’ Association Promise of Nursing Scholarships:

Tennessee nursing students are eligible for the Foundation of the National Student Nurses’ Association Promise of Nursing Scholarships sponsored by Johnson & Johnson. Award amounts range from $1,000 to $2,500. The application deadline is January 13. 10. Karen O’Neil Endowed Advanced Nursing Practice Scholarship:

Established by the Emergency Nurses Association (ENA), this scholarship is designed for the RN, LPN or LVN emergency nurse seeking an advanced degree. 11. Nurses’ Educational Funds Scholarships:

Nurses Education Funds, Inc. (NEF) is a nonprofit organization that promotes continued education through the acquirement and distribution of funds to BSN-prepared nurses seeking a master’s degree. Applicants must be a registered nurse, a member of a professional nursing association, a U.S. citizen and a full-time student in an accredited nursing program. 12. Specialized Training Assistance Program:

Nurses seeking a master’s degree can consider enrolling in the U.S. Army Reserves via their Specialized Training Assistance Program. Diploma nurses from an accredited college or university can receive a monthly stipend of $1,600 as well as loan repayment support. 13. The American Assembly for Men in Nursing Foundation Scholarships for Men:

14. Tylenol Future Care Scholarship:

Current graduate students are eligible to receive one of 30 annual scholarships valued up to $10,000 from Tylenol.
